This book revealed things about myself that I never understood and showed me what my role is as a father that will forever change my relationships with my children. A must read for any father/mentor.
I feel like I just drank from a cool stream.Modern males have become so emaciated; so malnourished. Too many young guys have been confined to a lifestyle that is safe, inadequate and mediocre. The glasses they wear have turned from rose-colored to a lifeless gray. Their true purposes in life have been locked away and hidden from the external public world, because the odds of his welcome reception in society are becoming more stacked against him daily. Camping in their mother's basement, more and more intense porn, and the fictional personas found in video game avatars or beer snobbery are the most daring adventure anybody seems to allow "good sons" to conquer anymore. Other adventures, it seems, are too risky, might offend someone enough that they sue, or have a possibility of eliciting character assassination by the local media. "Let's find another activity" is the bane of their existence. Sometimes persisting well past their 30's, our culture never allows men to become who they ought to be.
