Desde hace algunos años habÃa escuchado sobre lo bueno que era este libro, pero de verdad que me superó. Jamás habÃa leÃdo un libro asà la forma de relatar de la escritora te lleva a ese rancho en Piedras Negras, te hace creer que Tita tejido una colcha de 3 hectáreas, te hace sentir el dolor y el amor en cada capÃtulo.....y el final.....wow el final me dejó sorprendida, jamas lo imaginé!!!!! Además y para rematar sientes México en cada capÃtulo en cada receta en las tradiciones y costumbres, de verdad es una historia hermosa con una ventana a nuestro México querido!!! Me encantó, mega recomendado!!!
Me encantaba este libro. No pude dejar de leerl hasta el fin.Pensaba leerlo con mis estudiantes pero lo pondría como "PG-13" porque tiene contenido sexual, y mis estudiantes (6o y 7o grado) son jóvenes para esto.
One of the best examples of magical realism. This piece is NOT like 100 Años de Soledad, because it's different in language and style. Esquivel's writing is more relatable, colloquial, and it deals with many cultural and traditional aspects of early 20th century Mexico. The book is filled with magic, passion, love, heartbreak, injustice, problematic gender roles and patriarchal ideologies, as well as topics if feminism, family relations, obedient, religion, tradition, and much more. One of my absolute favorite books.
The movie does not do justice to the book. This is an awesome love story of Mexico at the turn of the 20th Century.

Love this book. It incorporates recipes with what is going on in the main characters life. A very good read if you are looking for entertainment and knowledge of ancient Mexican culture.Adoro el libro. Incorpora recetas con lo que ocurre con la vida de la protagonista. Muy buen libro si buscas entretenimiento y sobre la cultura antigua de Mexico.
Me gustaba este libro pero no tan mucho como otro libro del mismo autor. Es un buen libro para un estudiante de español como yo. Pero pienso que sea mejor no traducir todas las palabras por las varias ingredientes de las comidas. No es importante por entender el cuento, y interrumpa el paso del cuento.
