When they wrote 'Easy Piano' they weren't kidding! So if someone is just starting to play it could be very nice for them. I gave fewer stars because they really needed to show a picture or describe just how easy it was--it's the kind of easy where they show a note and the letter of the note is printed in the middle. I have many other 'Easy' books that are more advanced than that. But, if that is the level that someone is on then it would be a nice book to have since the songs are very beautiful at any level of difficulty.
Played through the entire book in a short time. This is good for an upper beginning to lower intermediate level player. The most challenging part is constant key changes but the music is pretty easy to play. However, if you're a Phantom phan (lol) like I am then you won't be disappointed. Easy songs to remember that you can play anywhere and be swept away.
We have seen live performances of "Phantom" a number of times in London, Broadway and on the road. The most rewarding live performances require seats in the first few rows - hard to get a very expensive. This recorded presentation is as good as the best we have seen even when we have had the best seats in the house.The cast, orchestra and staging are brilliant, while the cinematography draws the viewer right into the events on stage in a way that can't be duplicated in a live performance. So, if you are a "Phantom" fan, this is a must-have!
The only thing "bad" about this book is that it doesn't have a piano accompaniment book that goes along with this. The songs are written perfectly and they're easy to perform too. This book is made for a beginner looking to play some fun and well-known' songs.
Exactly what I wanted. The melody is in the top hand and the music is not too difficult to play. This is not a beginner book but rather an easy intermediate I would say. Now I get to sing and play all my old favorite musical tunes to the great annoyance of my kids!
If you love the music of Phantom you will love this! The music is challenging because of all the key changes, but with practice you will be playing it all. To play it makes a person appreciate the beauty of of each piece and brings you back to the events occurring in the musical. A wonderful selection of pieces too!
I bought this for my nine year old godson because he lived the site and is learning to play the piano. He was speechless and that's saying something. He ran to the piano and started on the first page and played all afternoon. I took him to the Phantom of the Opera and he sang home the entire three hour trip. The book is easy to read and stays on the piano rack easily not too slip. Nice story on the inside cover, too!
Music is fairly advanced. I teach and it allows the students to play as written or use the chords to 'fake it'. I feel the music is arranged well and have bought several for students. All are enjoying it!
